Balloons Over Letchworth

Launch Site Location

We launch from the Middle-Upper Falls picnic area in Letchworth State Park. (next to snack bar) Turn at the "Ballooning" sign by the Glen Iris.

We are located in Western New York, approximately a hour south of Rochester, a hour east of Buffalo, and seven hours west of NYC.

Allow plenty of travel time.

If you enter the park from one of the northern entrances, pass the Glen Iris Inn and make a left at the "Ballooning" sign. DO NOT ENTER the Parade Grounds entrance off of Rt. 436. That is the east side of the gorge and you can't get to us from there. Please adhere to the park speed limits. Deer freely roaming at our flight times. Dress for the days conditions. The grass is wet in the morning and caps should be worn by tall persons. It is usually warmer aloft than on the ground.

From Rochester: Take Rt. 390S to exit 7 (Mt. Morris), go South on Rt. 408 to Nunda, turn right (west) on Rt. 436 and go through Portageville. Turn right onto Rt. 19A and the park entrance is on your right. Enter the park and make your first right.

From Buffalo: Take Rt. 400 to East Aurora. Take a left on Rt. 20A (East) to Warsaw. Take a right on Rt. 19 to Rt. 19A South. Left at park entrance near Portageville. Enter the park and make first right.

From Corning/Elmira: Take Rt. 86 (former Rt. 17) west to 390 north to exit 4, Dansville. Left on Rt. 36, left on Jefferson St. and then left on Rt. 436 west, through Nunda. Take a right onto Rt. 19A and the park entrance is on your right. Enter the park and make your first right.
